How do I introduce two characters in a novel?

[Surf*Sand*Sunsational]

I have two characters entering on the scene in a rather intimidating situation. Approaching my disoriented main character in an ally. I don't have what happens when they see my character in the alley yet, but i do know that later in my novel they all become friends or allies if you prefer.

How should I introduce these characters to the story?

What should they say to my main character?

Should they be confronational at first?

How so?

Should they become friends imeadiately?

What should be said to make that happen?

What do you think should happen?
