How do I introduce my 8" BGK to my new 37 gal fish tank?

I just got a new 37 gal fish tank this past weekend and set it up with several gouramis, 2 puffer fish, a shark, and 2 barbs. I want to introduce my BGK to the tank tomorrow after i get off work but I'm afraid he might eat all my other fish, or die from stress. Or some other horrible consequence... does anyone have any thoughts on the matter, all my other fish seem to get along just fine.
But more than anything I want whats best for my BGK.
 
Really, that is not a good tank setup for a BGK... The Puffers will become fascinated by the Knife's undulating fins, and will quickly learn that it's entertaining to nip at them. This will stress it, but not nearly as much as the Shark (presumably a Rainbow or Redtail Shark?) will, with its over-aggression. I can't actually think of any sharks that would work well in that tank with a BGK, as they all either grow too large, aren't freshwater, or are too aggressive. If you'd like the BGK to work out, first I'd recommend getting a bigger tank (preferably something 4+ feet long), then ditching the Puffers and Shark. With the Gouramis and the BGK, you could add to your two Barbs to actually make a school, and consider a school of Danios, Hatchetfish, or Rainbows to occupy the surface.

EDIT: There are several species of freshwater Puffers (Dwarf Puffers, Amazon Puffers, Congo Puffers, Hairy Puffers, etc.); by no means do all Puffers require salt.
