Hi,
I just purchased my Sony Vaio EA series (or rather, VPCEA390X) and absolutely adore it! However, I only have two major issues with the laptop; first being the sound level (and or quality?) being low and the placement of the USB cable right next to where my mouse is (I'm right-handed). But never mind the second issue, the major issue is the sound level.
I actually placed the sound level at max, being 100%, and it is ridiculously low. I am hard of hearing and I do wear hearing aids; however, at this level, I can tell that it is LOW compared to my old laptop which I did not even need to go pass 70% to have a nice "loud" sound, particularly when I listen to music (and I do, ALOT on a laptop). I have tried the Volume Mixer and as well as through the Control Panel to Hardware and Sound section. From there, I already set everything high, even in the Level tab, Enchancement, Dolby and Advanced section. Yes, I was getting desperate, especially when the sound level is to..."low" for me. To be honest, it sound as if the max 100% on my new laptop is the same as around 35% to 40% sound level on my old laptop. That's the big difference between the two.
I've done research and came up with nothing until an idea popped up; is adding a better or extra external sound card a good idea for this? Or is there a BETTER method? I don't want to have to buy speakers to listen to music as I actively use the headphone for this. I am also considering on buying a new headphone with volume control on it, but I am starting to doubt that it would fix the issue. Beside, I just got this laptop and this is already an issue for me.
