how do i humanely kill a fish?

i know im gonna sound stupid but here i go.....

i started going fishing with my dad about a week ago. im the only one in my family that hates eating fish. but i love fishing. it makes me really sad seeing the fish swim around in the bucket knowing its gonna die in a frying pan. ugh. my mom scrapes the scales off while its still alive. my heart cant take it! i love animals and i hate seeing them get tortured. so.... how can they/I kill the fish humanely??
 
i think the best way would be a quick hard whack with a stick, they wont see it coming so you know it wont be a last memory, just make sure you do really hit them or it will give that fish one hell of a migraine
 
Grab it and club its head against a counter or something like that. If it doesn't die, it will be knocked out, and if it isn't knocked out, the nervous system will be damaged enough for it not to feel anything.
 
tap it on the head with a short heavy stick as soon as you catch it ,you can but a small baton in the tackle shop made for the job
