How do i have my songs as ringtones for iphone 3Gs?

i want to have a song by lady gaga as my ring tone instead of what was already provided on the phone
How do i do this?

It didnt work, when i went to change the name of it nothing popped up saying if i wanted to keep the file or whatever..
