help, please. I'm new to this.? I have a Mac PowerPC G4 running OS 10.4.11 and the latest version of GIMP for 10.4.11. I need to "group" (merge? concat?) two separate photos into one photo. I just want them to be side by side, nothing artsy or fancy. I need to be able to make two photos look like one for uploading to auction websites. I'm a newbie, step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi, Lustro. What a fantastic response! THANK YOU very much. Everything worked fine until the last 2 steps: "Now in the second picture you want to include, click Select -> All then click Edit -> Copy
In the larger new combo-picture, click Edit -> Paste As New Layer
Move the second image to where you want it.
In the new combo-image, click File -> Save As and save in whatever format you want. If it says it needs to merge layers, flatten the image, or export the data, agree to it." In the new combo, the second photo lays on top of the first. I'm able to grab it and drag to the right, but there is not enough space and the second layer disappears. I made the larger combo window a little more than twice the width of the two photos combined, and slightly higher than the tallest photo. It seems like the larger combo picture window isn't wide enough. Any suggestions?
