how do i go from reg. piercing size to 2g in one night?

my ears are normal(standard) size from piercing them, i just bought 2g's tonite, i have heard to clean them well and use petroleum jelly to do this to make them slide in with ease, that would cause less damage is there any other tips out there that can help me get the 2g tapers in tonite all the way to the larger side?
