I should probably start off by saying that I don't know too much about car stereo equipment, but can take things apart if need be. About a year ago, I had replaced my stock 07 scion tc radio with a pioneer avh4100dvd. I love touch screen, and everything it has to offer, but the steering wheel control never worked. I understand that this is common, but I wouldn't know where to start to resolve this issue. I've been reading that I'll need a wiring harness for the steering wheel itself, but I love it if it could control track switching and volume when listening to my iPod, as well as radio. This can't be impossible, right? All I'm doing is extending the buttons my stereo already has to the steering wheel, right?
Is there any easy way to do this? And on a side note, when playing my ipod, there is a slight hum that gradually gets louder when you start to accelerate. What could this be caused by and how can I fix it? Moving wires around? Any help would be appreciated...
And again...I'm not too car savvy, so plain english would also be appreciated...
