how do i get some good comebacks on people that make fun of me?

i'm quiet and kinda shy and you know what happens to people like me. i never be the type to rib somebody cause that's never been my thing, i laugh at first but then people take it too far and i start to get down on myself which makes me feel like a coward because i'm 19 and i'm not supposed to let something as small as that get to me. people always say rib him back or rib her back, i don't because one i think it's childish and two because i'm not good at it and people always say boo that's lame come harder or whatever i don't know what to do, i do lack confidence and self esteem in myself which is the reason why i let things like this get to me. how do i become funny and use comebacks to get at people, it's either make rib them like they do me or shoot em, i got a gun and believe me i will do it, atleast killing someone will make me more confident.
