how do i get my wind. media player cd burner work again?

when i recently tried to burn a cd on my windows media player, it came up in the window that it couldn't
locate my cd burner. it worked before, but i think i must have deleted something accidently. Is there anyone that could help me step by steps here to get it to work? i think i might owe somebody free beer
