my boyfriend and i just got a 7 week old pitbull puppy shes been very good since we had her not too many accidents in the house and she listens wen we tell her to come to us or sit or down...the only thing we seem to be having a problem with is that wen we are home and in our living room or bedroom( we have a baby gate to keep her out of the living room since we dont want her chewing the furniture so she stays in the kitchen usually) she whins and cries sometimes only little whimpers and other times its a full blown tempertantrum. sometimes wen we ignore her fits she stops within five mins then within ten she starts again other times she cries for up to a half hour before we get fed up and bring her in the living room or bedroom with us.how can i get this behavior to stop wev only had her for about 5 days but i had dogs growing up and none of them acted like this. we give her plenty of love and shes allowed in the living room wen we are awake. how can i get her to stop this?

Well usually people shouldn't get a puppy until it is at least 8 weeks old. But you got yours near 6 weeks so more than likely it is crying for it's mum/litter mates. And there is things you can do, don't know how effective they are but...
You could put a ticking small alarm clock near/in his bed. this resembles there mum heart beat.
Also you could put a hot water bottle that is luke warm, makes it think it is his mum or litter mates.
You could also put one of your shirts that hasn't been washed yet, this way he can smell you and will not feel so alone.
Another thing is leaving a radio on low so he thinks people are there, i think somethings are post to be used together to get the best result.

But like i said i do not know if these will have a big impact, i got my german shepherd at 9 weeks, he cried the first night for 10 mins and went bed and the time he cried at night slowly decreased. Now he doesn't cry at all.

What i do with my puppy and it seems to work well is during the day when we are home, he has free run of the house, he has a walk a day and plenty of chew toys etc, puppy nylabone is a favourite!

Then at night he goes in a gated area in the kitchen this is 'his' area and he sleeps there at night... he whined when we first got him for 9 nights for about 20mins each time and then he stopped and when he is tired he will go on his bed in his area on his own now then I shut the gate at aroung 10.30 for the night. I had to ignore the whines as I didn't want him sleeping in my room at night. Don't give in! she will stop and know it won't get her attention!

I dont think it will stop whining yet, I wouldnt yell at it being that its just a new born, its like a new born babie. idk

Really the best thing to do is ignore it. The reason she keeps coming back every ten minutes is because she know eventually you'll let her in. You need to be a leader to your dog, and when you want her to stay out, she stays out, and you spend time with her on your own watch.

Also, give her a KONG toy to keep her busy.

male sure she is getting enough exercise and attention. If that's not the case,
Ignore her!
completely ignore her! it may take a few nights, just buy some ear plugs and ignore her. She will be happy with ANY and ALL attention, even if its negative attention. So ignore her, and make sure she has a chew toy or something to do.
