how do i get my dog to stop whining?

I have a 12 year old beagle that is obsessed with food. she starts whining every morning at 6am and wants us to get up to feed her. then she does it again at 5pm for dinner. The morning is the most annoying because I'm up twice a night with an infant and I'm exhausted! I've tried spraying her in the face with water bottle but now she just takes it and doesn't even flinch. I've tried ignoring her but she'll just keep whining. If we put her in another room or garage she'll bark. She's driving us crazy!!
 
Ah, the beloved beagle. I've got two, and they are exactly the same. I swear they can tell the time.

Did you feed her at these times before you had your child? I fed mine at the same time for years, and now they demand it.

I haven't found a way around it. Let's face it, beagles are greedy dogs who love food, love attention, and are ruled by their noses and stomachs!
