I coach a team of 6th 7th and 8th grade girls. I am a girl in High School. They all really like me and look up to me, outside of practice. In practice, I'll explain something and they'll start doing the drill but they don't shut up. Half of them are on the floor laughing the whole time and I dont want to get mad at the but I do want them to shut the hell up. I mean Im giving up my free time to teach them valuable stuff and I put a lot of effort into planning practices, I dont get why they can't pay attention. I dont want to make them run because I really DO want them to enjoy practice. Its a club team and none of them are being forced to go. I just dont want them to quit and I know they would if I made them run a lot.

You should make them run, but not everytime they make noise. Make them run big time once, and I bet you they won't do it again. You could also talk to them telling them they need to focus and they need to leave the laughing and giggling outside of practice. I know how you feel, a lot of the girls on my team can't be serious. I hope you are able to control them, good luck :)
