How do I get better at guitar?

I have all the basics down pretty well. I have been playing a few years and developed good technique. I just really don't know where to go from here. I have good guitars and good amp, but I feel like my equipment is better than I am. I can play most of the songs I see tabs for, but I have problems when trying to play stuff like At the Drive-In, Minus the Bear, and Radiohead by ear. I really want to be a great guitarist, but I'm just not sure what to practice anymore. Is there a certain DVD out there that might help intermediate guitarists? I will be grateful for any advice I receive.
 
I would suggest some lessons with a teacher who is more into getting you to play by ear than by following lesson books. Also nothing beats playing with a group, just being with other musicians opens you up to new ways to play and pushes you.
