How do I get a recorded .vro video to play on windows media player?

I recorded a program off of my TV onto a DVD. How do I get this program to play on windows media player with sound?

The file type .vro is not recognised so what do I have to convert it to?

I have tried mp4 and wmv. They both work but with no sound?

Or do I not have to convert it?

Please help ='(
 
i downloaded "VLC Media Player" Wrks well for me and i have a dell vastro 1000 labtop
