How do I frame a canvas painting?

I have a 24" by 36" canvas painting of my parents I would like to frame, but not sure how. I don't want glass in front of the painting. Do I just buy a frame and remove the glass? Or will that make the canvas loose and wrinkly? Just want to know if there is a proper way to frame it. Any info would be great, thanks!
