How do I fix my epson R220 (flashing red lights) have already reset counters.?

Thank you for taking the time to check out my question.

I have an Epson R220 which broke over a year ago that I have been recently trying to fix.

It has both Red Lights (the ink and paper buttons) flashing at the same time.

I know that this problem is usually fixed by using the SSC software to reset the counters but I have already tried this and run a soft reset and kept it switched off for some time before turning it back on but the problem still persists.

Can anyone help?

I probably only got 120 odd prints out of this printer (bad even by Epson's standards) so the problem probably isn't related to the counters or waste ink pad.

This printer is out of warranty and I would really like to fix it rather than spend out on another one!

If it makes any difference I had a CIS continuous ink supply system fitted at the time the error occurred.

Your help will be really appreciated!

Epson sometimes has these weird things inside the printer called an ink diaper. Make sure that that is not all gunked up with ink. Also have you tried bleeding the capacitors by unplugging the printer and holding in the power button. This removes any electricity to the printer removing any memory the printer has of any old errors. Also try replacing any old cartridges. Sometimes the print heads go bad withing a cartrage even if it still has ink in it.
