How do I fix a plastic ring on a 2008 Honda Civic coupe?
I am an old lady ignorant about cars, living with my older mother. My mother, trying to get into the garage, pulled the front left bumper of my Honda away from its attachments. The right bumper is in place, and, as far as I can tell, there is no damage to anything except the plastic hole that the Phillips-head screw goes through in the tire well on the left bumper. The hole/ring is torn. In answers to a similar question, someone suggested repairing it with J-B Weld or a siicone-type sealant as a temporary measure, and someone else said I would need aluminum strip behind the screw holes. My idea was to glue brass washers, one above and one below, the ring. If that would work, what kind of glue would I use? What is aluminum strip? I'm also assuming I will just push the slots of the bumper and it will go back into the clips that hold it. Am I making sense? Can anyone help?
