How do i fix a flooded car engine?

I have a 1995 Nissan Maxima which has a flooded engine. I tried opening thee throttle and turning the car on, but it still would not start. I also tried spraying an ether based starting fluid by the air filter, and tried to turn it on. The only thing that happened was that the engine made a popping sound and blew some sort of air into the air and smelled like something was burning. What can i do to fix it?

no I don't think you car if finished ! hold the throttle all the way open and turn the engine over for a longer time like 30-60 seconds and don't let off the gas until the engine is going on its own without the starter

if it was flooded water doesnt compression your motor got hydrolocked..you need to have it rebuilt or find a new one...that pop that you heard was the piston snapping in half...the piston is just sitting up there in the cylinder...
