How do I fix a delay problem from my PS3 to a SANYO lcd tv?

Slight delay from console to sanyo lcd tv... When I play my PS3, everything happens a half of a second after I press the buttons. This really stinks especially in timing games such as baseball games or shooting games. I've tried a few things like adjusting the resolution on my console, changing the aspect ratio, and changing the picture settings on the TV. We have a 32" Sanyo tv in our living room, and its response prior to the command on a game is nearly simultaneous. I've heard something about an AV chip or something. This really isn't That urgent, but if you can get an answer that would be great. Thanks a bushel!

NOTICE: I am NOT using an HDMI cable, im using one of those jack cables with the yellow, red, and white jacks.
