Teh equation of a circle with center O(0.0) is x^2+y^2=17. The points M(1,4) and N(4,-1) are the endpoints of the chord MN. Find the distance from the center of the circle to the chord.

What I did was find the slope on MN which is -2 and flip it to make it perpendicular and then make two equations for line MN and O. After substitution my coordinates were (2.4,1.2) then I tried it in the distance/length formula and my answer became as ?7.2 or 2.7 units. But the answer in the book says 2.9 What am I doing wrong?
