Neither of us have insurance but the person said they would just pay. Now i need to get a professional to have a look at it, which is what the insurance company would have done if either of us had it! I know what the 'red book price is' but it is too large a range to be fair to either them or me.
I'm pretty sure the car is wrecked as there is a lot of damage to both the body and the engine. but what i want to know is WHO (mechanic, panel beater, whatever) who should i get to look at it? (i'm in Australia)
I'm not sure what my legal rights are here and the other person was 100% at fault. I don't want to waste time because it sucks catching the bus to work. But i want to be fair to the person who crashed into me, and to myself.
