The book was about a Cherokee girl named Amiya and her life following the Trail of Tears. I do know that the title was not 'Trail of Tears' or any close approximation thereof. The book was, at most, about fifteen or twenty years old when I read it in 1988, but it was a library book so the age is a very rough estimate. It was fewer than 300 pages and the same length and width dimensions as an average hardback book (about six by nine inches or thereabouts). If anyone could help me, I would be much obliged.
