How Do I disconnect The battery on a 96 Cadillac Deville?

Im sorry I know this sounds like a dumb ? but I just dont want to mess Up my car it still has the rubber around the terminals where it is connected do I just pull that off or does this unscrew somehow PLEASE HELP!!!

lift cover remove ground or back cable then red cable

Just slide the rubber boots up out of the way and loosen the bolts on the terminals.

Yes just lift up the rubber and you will find the cable fixed to the terminal,a 7/16 or 1/2 wrench should fit the nut,and now a question if you do not know to much about autos why are you messing with the battery?Perhaps you should have someone with a little more experience help you.Just a suggestion.
