how do I disable chat on my email account I do not want it loading every time...

...I log into my yahoo mail.? everytime I log in to check my e-mail yahoo messenger is turned on and it makes my computer lag horribly and I want to completely disable that function on my account. basically if I want to use messenger I will log into messenger seperatly...
 
In the mail you will see Yahoo messenger chat option there please select sign out from chat, then it will not ask you again.
