Normally, you right click the icon and hit delete but delete is not an option. Nor can I drag the icon into a folder or the recycle bin, it simply creates another shortcut to put there. The options when right clicking this icon are:
"Open", "Explore", "Add a bluetooth device" and "Create a shortcut". That's it. So, how do I get this icon to delete?

Just leave it alone for a while without messing with it or exploring it, and the desktop cleanup wizard will say you have unused icons on your desktop, just click on the speech bubble and hopefully it gets rid of it.

Right click on it with the mouse then left click delete in the box that comes up. This will only delete the icon from your desk top and not the program.
