How do I deal with tutoring disrespectful pre teens and teens?

Or, simply, tell their parents about their behavior. I'm sure they would love to know that there hard-earned money spent for tutoring their beloved child is being wasted because of their childs immaturity.

I work at a Kumon centre ( its a tutoring center). I deal with children ages 5 - 15. I love teaching the little ones, but the older ones are the problem. I am in grade 11 myself, and so they tend to have little respect for me since they think that they're my age.. I have myself to blame partly for this - i am sometimes too friendly with them.

However, today they went overboard. They brought up innapropriate topics with me, and when i tried to stop them they continued to laugh and not take me seriously. My job will be in jeopardy if this continues. How do i control them and how do I demand respect for them?
They are not doing any thing bad enough to call the police on them. its just annoying things like : "oh (my name) i see your boyfriend over there! hahah!". its just immature stuff, and with their hormones raging you can imagine all the sex related stuff they talk about. It is unacceptable in a learning environment, and thats why i want to stop them, but its so hard!

you can;t...what ever you say wont register with them...by all means try, but dont bother helping those who dont appreciate your help..ask your employer for a transfer to other students

Telephone books don't leave bruises.

On a more serious note, take it up with an adult. If they really were bringing up these topics, file for harassment. Have a cop come in and monitor it, that'll put their panties in a bunch. :)
