How do I convince my parents to let me ride my bike to school?

they don't let me ride because there is a "street" that leads me to my school. im 13 years old.
 
you seem to be close to the age to be able to ride your bike to school but parents seem to be over protective they always think the worst is going to happen and they may be afraid that you will get hit by a car on that "street" just stress to them that you are responsible enough to be careful and that they can trust you and all that stuff good luck.
