How do I convince my parents to let me get a phone?

I have good grades and everything. My friend said she could not call me just because I didn't have a phone. I asked and they said sure, but come on!! It's taking them 2 years just to call the dang people and make an account. I am not a brat but if you say you will do it why are you procrastinating!?!
 
my first question is, your friend cant ring you because you didn't have a phone.... don't you have a house phone?
next, tell your parents, that you want a prepaid phone so only the credit you buy can be used, this means no sky high bills.
also mention its handy incase your coming home from school and decide to go to yours friend house or some chane of plan...you can RING them.

offer to do some chores for some pocket money so you can pay for your own credit....so them your mature about it

also don't go asking for some fancy one, a decent 60 - 200 dollar phone will do you
 
I'm 13. (It's wrong on this Yahoo account because I pressed something wrong) and it took me a few months to convince my parents. I told them I wouldn't break it, use it too much, would pay for my own phone bill with my pocket money, not lose it, not download anything that costs money (because on phones they say it's 99 cents but is actually $90,) and use it in case of emergencies. I begged because no one uses pay-phones anymore. I studied so much more, completing a whole Excel book every week. And my mom and dad finally got me one.
