How do i convince my parents to get me a new car?

i got my license 5 weeks ago and my parents bought me a 2002 mustang v6. but recently i stumbled across an amazing mitsubishi eclipse for sale. i was telling my friends bout the car and one of them offered me 10k for it. so i said ok ill talk to my dad bout it. i really didnt tell him that i wanted to trade it but wen i told him that my friend wanted to buy it for 10k he said no becuz it was the car that they bought me. i want to convince them without them feeling sad or mad at me. plz help me out
 
$$$ and proving to their standards that u can handle it b/c after they just bought you a car i dont think theyre very willing to just go ahead and let you get another
 
just ask for the new car. i worked 10 years before i had a car that new and nice but hey if you can get it ask for it. be careful driving cars can be deadly.
