I had this stereo installed a couple of years ago at Best Buy (Pioneer DEH-P3700MP) and it is touted to be "satellite ready." I have since bough a Sirius and wanted to know how my DEH-P3700MP's satellite readiness will work with my Sirius. I havev looked in the owner's manual and the installation manual and have found no help.

How do I "hook" my Sirius up to my DEH-P3700MP? (Aside from using the weak FM antenna that was provided with my Sirius) Does the DEH-P3700MP have "jack" in which I can "plug" my Sirius into?

"Satellite ready" means that the Pioneer can handle a fully integrated Sirius system.

This means you can plug in a SIR-PNR1 or a SIR-PNR2 system into the back of your Pioneer system. You can hide the SIR-PNR1/2 system under a seat, and your pioneer will be able to do all the channel changing and song/station display on the pioneer radio screen. This is usually installed by professional installers and Best Buy can sell the SIR-PNR1/2 and hook the system up.

Sirius sells FM antenna systems that are probably what you have. Those are portable units for do-it-yourselfers or those with multiple cars, and usually require a separate device to be placed somewhere on your dash.

I am unsure of your particular model without googling it, but I'll try to answer your question. Read the manual that came with your stereo...since it is satellite ready, it should have a SID# which is about 14 digits long. These numbers are the numbers that are required for your Satellite provider (XM or Sirius) to go through your car stereo with out any equipment. It will come out on the display of your stereo which you can write down and give to the satellite provider. Since your stereo is satellite ready it should have all the functions of a basic satellite...changing the satellite station, etc. For those operations you will need to read the manual. Hope that helps.
