How do I completely reset my Sony Vaio laptop to the first day I purchased it?

I recently got a virus and "removed" it and the laptop isn't the same anymore. Its much slower. I was wondering is there is a way to completely reset my laptop to the first day I got. I am aware that all my programs that I downloaded since then will be gone but I would prefer that
What if I cannot find the recovery disk?
