how do i clear space on my computer so that i can download a tv show from itunes?

i bought a tv sereis on itunes (top gear) it shows up as purchesd on my itunes account but when ever i try to download the shows it says error the disk your trying to use has no space please clear ...so i went to disk clean up and cleaned several times and whenever i go 2 itunes to try it again it says i still need to clean out space ....what do i do ??????????please help
