so my car is broken, off and on, and the part only costs $23. i really dont want to pay so much to get it fixed and would love to learn how to do it myself. so how do i change the camshaft sensor? and can i even do it myself? i know that i shouldnt do electrical stuff, but im not exactly sure if it is electrical? could you please help me out with pictures on how to do it? i looked on autozone.com but i couldnt figure out where the part was even located. help me plz!

My suggestion is to go to an auto parts store and have them show you where it is on their computer; then if you decide you can & want to tackle it, get a repair manual for the car..they have step by step instructions and photos. Also ask the parts person if they have knowledge of replacing the part

you can buy books that tell you how to fix anything on your car get that book and go from there. you can get the book for $20 at your auto parts store. it will also have pictures so you know you are in the right place but your job shouldnt be to hard...disconect the battery find it 2 botls and done might be a tight fit but it is doable...but again that book will be a big help to you

You can do it:
First thing take a bottle of Whiteout-the kind that is used on typewriter;
now make an alignment mark on the block on the senser and the position of the movable drive;/good luck:

Is the engine dual over head cam or single? Also its so so easy its just one bolt and one plug that goes into it. Most of the time its located on the rear right of your head. It will be black with a two wire harness that plugs into it. Find out first exactly where its located and use common sense. You may have to remove the valve cover to get the room to slide it out but there is no way to mess it up. It bolts in the exact position it needs to be and if you cant bolt it, it needs to be turned a little. I would look on ebay for exactly what the part looks like and just find it its not hard. Once u find it stop think and see what you have to move out the way to slide it out unplug and plug the new one in and insert and done. So so easy. Word of advice ... Tell people what engine you have I.E.( V6, 4 Cylinder, what size liter's before you start asking questions. I mean how do you expect people to help when they dont know what theyre working on. Just al ittle help to help you. Good luck
