how do i change from Quick time player to Windows media player?

I got a new Kodak camera and i've recorded a few videos on it. Well i'm used to using windows movie maker for editing videos and such but i cant get the video files to work with windows. It'll only play on Quick-time player and i'd rather not use that to edit. how can i get my videos on WMM and WMP?
