how do I change a head light in my 96 ford escort?

One light went out and we bought both bulbs to replace, my husband is not a car guy so we are not sure how to change it out. I don't have a manual for the car. It looks like we pull it out but we are afraid we may break something. There is what looks like a tab that needs to be pushed in but we are not sure. Can someone explain how to get the old one out please?
