How do I bike uphill on my cruiser?

I just learned how to ride a bike. I've got turning, breaking and crossing streets down pretty well. My neighborhood is mostly flat, but there are some streets that are a bit convex and you have to bike uphill. Although I just can't seem to get all the way up the street, my legs kill out and I fall lol. I have gears, but only 1-7. Should I put the gears up? Should I just keep practicing? HELP ME!

You want to learn to pedal at a high cadence 70-90 rpm's and use a gear that is easy to pedal. You body is most efficient when pedaling at that speed. If you pedal slow and have to mash on the pedals your legs won't last long. When climbing a hill use a gear that you can accelerate in if you want to.
