i am going hiking in th woods alone in oklahoma there are no trails. how do i avoid bob cats and moutain lions.
when i go hking i carry a bb gun but it wont do much
While you are walking keep a heavy cane in your hand. It will make the hiking easier, and if some creature attacks you a cane can make a mighty weapon. The cats are more afraid of you than you are of them.
Bob cats won't bother you but be careful of mountain lions when you walk under an overhanging ledge. They will pounce on you from above usually. Attach a tin can to your belt loop with pebbles or coins in it that rattle as you hike and make noise. All cats will stay away from you. Don't go in any caves unless you toss a rock inside it first and stand way back from the opening. Have fun!! ; )
