How do i ask for a week off during an internship?

I am a college student that has already made plans to go on vacation this summer with my family. We are going for a week, but just today i got a call from a company to come in for an interview. The thing is we have already booked the tickets and all that, but i also really want this job. Would it be very bad for me to take the internship and then ask for a week off during the summer?

Just be up front with the company AFTER they have made the offer of employment. Let them know that you have already made the plans and that otherwise your attendance and punctuality will be excellent. Most places will understand as long as you're honest and up front and don't take advantage by taking many other days off.

Make known your holiday intentions during the interview process or negotiations on first meeting with your future employer, most times they will take this into consideration and work around it.
