How do I adjust and replace clutch in 1996 suzuki indruder 800GL?

This work is not that difficult. I recommend a Clymer manual for reference, but...start with draining the oil. Take the cover off the clutch cover off, being careful to not damage the gasket. There will be 5-6 bolts holding the clutch basket in place. Gently slide these plates out and replace with the new ones. You may have to clean them before installing. Check the packaging for instructions. Some require you to soak them in oil for a period of time.
You may want to replace the springs too. They are not too expensive, and will improve the rebuild. make sure you have the clutch plates installed exactly the way they came out. Put the cover back on.You may have to re adjust the cable. That can be done at the lever. Adjust the knob (round wheel) so that there is about enough free play to fit a penny into the space between the end of the lever, and the cable slot. Check the action of the clutch, make sure it works correctly. Refill the oil, do this last in case you have to take it apart again. Run the bike 10 minutes and check for oil leaks. Everything good?
