How do I add ringtones to my samsung mesmerize?

i can add songs to my phone from my computer but there is only a notification folder, so i can only add the songs as notifications. when i just add them to the media folder, they are in my music player, but thats it. how do i get them as just a general ringtone? not a person-specific, but just a general ringtone.
