How do humans, "reverse the effect" of climate change?

To my understanding, the earth has been constantly changing and oftentimes, violently, for billions of yrs. Most people would argue that we've only been here for %.00000010 of this time. I seek logical answers from all angles of thought on this.
 
The standard answer is to cut down on CO2 emissions and to invest in renewable energy sources.

Is enough being done?

Trouble is that not everyone is convinced.
