How Do Different Cultures Come To America and Own These Places?

I dont want to seem like a racist or anything, but I am a very curious person, and i just wanted to know why do Indians come from India and they purchase motels and convince stores..I have never really understood this, but i have always wanted to know..This goes for the Chinese culture as well. Why do they own nail saloons..
Again please dont this of this question as a joke or a racist thing, im just curious and i wanna know..
