My family owns a van, its a dodge derrick or whatever. We bought it back in 2007. But my question is, when someone sits in the front seat, the seat beside the driver seat. I'll call it the shotgun seat
. But anyways, when someone sits in the shotgun seat, and doesn't seat belt themselves, It suddenly makes a noise reminding the person sitting there to seatbelt themselves. How did the car detect the person sitting there? Is there some weight thing or what? And when someone just drives without a person sitting in the shotgun seat, nothing happens :O.
But what would happen if someone puts something heavy in the shotgun seat? Like...a cooler box. Would you have to seatbelt it then ?
