How difficult was it to get back to pre-baby shape for you?

How much weight did you gain during pregnancy, and how long did it take to lose it?

Did you find it difficult to keep yourself motivated after having a baby?

What did you do to get back in shape?

I'm really worried about how out of shape I'm going to be after having a baby. I'm planning on breastfeeding for at least 6 months; I've heard that helps to lose the weight, but also that it increases your appetite so it actually makes you gain more...

I'm having my baby in May, so I'll be able to exercise outside. I have a jogging stroller, and will be going to the gym 4 days a week (30 mins. of cardio and 30 mins. of strength training). I'm going with a friend which will help me go even when I don't feel like it.

Once I have my baby, I'll be able to drink green tea again (decaf of course!). I used to drink about 4-6 cups daily but had to quit when I got pregnant because it's bad for the baby. I'm worried that quitting will make me gain extra weight. I also quit smoking cigarettes (for good!) and am worried that will also make me gain extra weight even though I'm eating healthy because of a drastic change in metabolism.

I gained 12 kilos... had bub 15 months ago still have 5 kilos left to loose!! Hehe i too had the theory of going to the gym 4 times a week and being all good and fit....But once you have that baby you will soon realise some days your wont leave your couch with that bub on ya boob all day let alone the house!!! So try not to stress too much,,, It will all eventually come of if you just eat well and walk regularly and when bubs is napping do 100 sit ups and 100 squats.

Gained 42lbs in pregnancy, gave birth in Sept 09 and am now lighter than I was pre-pregnancy.
Having the wee one will make the weight fall off...it's a busy job being mummy! :)

I was 135 before i got pregnant and rolled into the bed at 190 ibs- 5 months later I am 148 and have a thyroid problem a hypo thyroid problem. so if you have not figured it out my thyroid is not working its actually going too slow.....i lost 50 ibs in 5 month es with low metabolism.

i put on 13kg all up with my first pregnancy, lost half of it within the first week and lost the other half from just keeping active, going for walks with the baby and trying to eat healthy.
It's not a hard task, you will be amazed by how much weight you actually lose in the first week or so, just go for plenty of early morning walks with bubs, makes you feel so much better even after a sleepless night of waking up for feeds : )
BTW I didn't breastfeed and still lost the weight easily
