How different are the "Made in Finland" and "Make by Nokia" versions?

We here at hofo are spoiled a lot.. as we expect that 'perfection'. Think outside hofo.. how many people care where the phones are made?
Do you look at the back of the huge 60 inch SONY LCD TV at circuit city to see if it is Made in Japan? No.. we don't care. Anything we buy on day to day basis we dont look where they are made. However, we do care of the brand.. why? coz we 'trust' certain brands as they 'deliver' the quality.

Well, it appears i'm left with little choice then...I must agree with you. But it begs the question...... why the hell is the product coming out of Finland so much better then!!

lol....that's a very good point indeed! I couldnt tell you where the hell my TV, Clock Radio, ipod, laptop, PC, and anything else is actually made from. But i'll be damned if the first thing I check out is where the hell my cell phone is made!! In fact, i've had a bb pearl for 3 weeks now and i've never bothered to check where it was made. It's only Nokia products it seems....wtf is wrong with me...

edit: Okay, enough of bashing where these phones are made.....why not figure out where the hell these phones are being tested to ensure the consumer that they are getting a stable and bug free product. I'll take a little creak for a phone that doesnt pop through the earpiece and randomly have the BT volume jump up and down for no reason. I say we go after the programmers!

yeah yeah yeah...i m actually interested in your n73 me, but the screen protector is peeling off...and the phone is probably not made in finland

This one is WAY BETTER than the Made in Finland N73 which I owned few months ago. Trust me when I say that!! Made in Finland used to creak like there is no tomorrow

Regarding the screen protector.. I peeled it off at the corner to cut the extra film which covered the front camera .. then it wouldn't stick back

You actually made the point that matters most! We have become spoiled a bit and way way too particular....but I'm only particular because Nokia is famous for releasing phones with loose moving parts and it shouldnt be that way. 8890's=famous for loose battery cover which requires a business card to hold it in place.....and that symptom was out of the box as i've owned 3 factory fresh 8890s in my life. 8801s have a slightly loose battery cover as well...n80s have a slightly loose battery cover....certain keys in certain models always have some akward give or immediate loosening. Point being, most of those phones i've owned have NOT been manufactured in Finland and they are consistent with problems other owners were having. I'm not certain where all of the models where made but at that time, finland vs lala land wasnt a debate. I'm only on the current Finland band wagon because 2 of the 4 v3's i've owned were made in Finland and their superior build qualities are undeniable. Both Finnish made phones are E series and the others were N so perhaps it's design flaws as I mentioned earlier..however, I'm reluctant to say that's the truth as many members with finnish made n73's have had much less gripes about the nasty creaks that eminated out of my made on another planet n73. it's tough to say but i'll be on the prowl for a finnish made N95 just to be on the safe side.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia N73 ME: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

I've never been clear on the differences, but i wouldn't be shocked if everything was made in the same place, but the finland phones were just assembled in finland. This would make any difference pretty negligable.

i had a made in finland n-gage qd and that broke within a year...but i do prefer finlandia vokda over smirnoff. but then again, our hockey teams are better than their hockey teams.

well your experience with made in finland ones must be terrible, like me with made by nokia ones

never cut the screen protector imo...or else yeah end up with whats happening to your phone.

Talking about particular.. I am particular about onething. The traditional chinese strokes/lines on the keys. They make the keypad busy which I don't like it

How are you never "on-line" yet manage to have 60,000 posts! I think you fancy yourself a bit of a celebrity? (my poor attempt at a british accent)

edit:....lol...I was talking about Angel.
