How did you wire in your Zumo?

I wired my zumo 660 directly to the battery and ignored the rest of the connections (I have no use for them). I had my previous GPS wired to the ignition but later changed to a direct battery connection. I decided that I liked the battery connection better. Since the power lead for the GPS is already fused, extra fusing (like the Aux switch) is of no consequence.
 
Several people on the forum have followed suit and wired theirs like this using the Kury fuel door mount. PM me it you need any help. I'd be glad to help with any advice or ideas.

WOW - this is EXCELLENT - thank you! I am a n00b HD EG UC owner and I am moving my Zumo from my RSV to my 09 UC. I will hard wire to the battery, as I hate it when it comes on when you start the bike, but I need to get a new inline fuse and I will also get the plug thingy so I can remove the cradle when I want to - I like that idea.

Since I am new to the HD world of MC's, I have to admit this is the best forum I have found - I have subscribed to 4 other ones, but for some reason the people here just seem to be more... human, real, and helpful.

I didn't care for the fuel cap mount it has you looking down more than on the handle bars next to the mirror. I wired mine to the cig lighter. ran the power cord and audio wire down the left handlebar and had the audio wire come out one the right side with a 90degree end to plug into the radio. Works ok for me. I do wish the harley radios came with a audio in on the back of the radio
 
i wired my 660 through the cigarette lighter. the harness followed the left handlebar harness into under the fairing and the aux wire and the other two accersory wires comes out of clutch cable hole (wired tied) where it just sticks out enough to stay out of the way.

i wired directly to the battery the first time around and did not like it being hot all the time and also did not want to use the accessory switch
 
I tried several different mounting systems, and ended up going with Harley's fairing mounting kit. The downside is that you have to drill holes in your inner fairing, and the mount stays permanently on your bike.
The upside is that there are NO wires exposed. I had Iron Cross Audio add an AUX In port to the back of my radio. I simply ran the power and audio cables inside the fairing, and hooked the power to the headlight and the audio to the AUX In port that was added.
Hard to get any cleaner than this, and it's mounted more in the line of sight.
I do miss my triple windshield pouch however. I've let to find a single pouch that doesn't vibrate, and I've tried three so far.
