how did you get introduced to anime?

You know it's always interesting to see how people got into anime. I've only started like 3 months ago and so I know im a beginner in anime but here is the question how did you get started on anime?

I'll start first, I was reading mangas at my local bookstore while I waited for my friends to get off work at Barnes and Noble, all of the mangas were recommended to me. I hated waiting for the next book release like 3 months away or so, so one of my friends told me about onemanga (R>I>P) and after joined my anime club, I was interested in seeing how animes took some of the series farther and some became even more action packed (FMA FTW!)

Eventually met my bf in the club ^^ and he lent my some of his anime dvds and blu rays, but I wanted to watch more especially recently since its the summer and I have free time so I was introduced to a site called Crunchyroll which makes it easy for me to stream rather than my other friends who have terrabytes of anime wow and probably never watch it again but hey I gave in and paid for a year membership to watch and I found Reborn!!!! SO in love with Reborn and the series is good too

so how about the rest of you?
 
I was interested in anime from an early age. I started watching Pokemon and Sailor Moon when I was 6. It went from those to Digimon and Yu Gi Oh. After that I discovered Toonami and all the shows on there (Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo). The only anime I watched from 7th to 9th grade was Inuyasha on Cartoon Network. After I finished that, I got into Bleach, and I found out that I could watch it on the internet. That's when I got completely hooked and have been watching and buying tons of anime since then.
 
Pedo-bear raped me when I was a child. Heh...... I was first introduced to Voltron when I was 7 or 8. From there I just kept hunting. I didn't even understand it was from Japan at first. It was much easier to find more once I stumbled across the term Japanamation when I was 13 or so.
 
I happened to be in a shop that at the time was having a sale on Anime a few years ago. I bought a few DVDs to try and really enjoyed it. That is what got me into Anime.
 
I hope I don't sound like a perv or anything, but please tell me what anime that bottom picture in your signature came from!
 
The animated one? Its from Strike Witches. I can't remember what episode number it was but it was based at the beach. Shirley had designed what was supposed to be super fast plane legs but Francessca broke them and repaired them without anyone knowing. This made them even faster and when Shirley used them she flew so fast that her bikini melted and she went unconscious and fell towards the sea. Lynette and Yoshika were sent to rescue her,that is about the point in the episode my sig shows.
 
The following series had me started on anime: Voltes V, Daimos, Sailormoon, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Recca no Honou; I watched all these in Filipino dubs. Then, AXN came into being and showed Dual, Rurouni Kenshin, Gatekeepers, and Vandread in Japanese(with subs, of course). I discovered how anime is so much better in Japanese so I started watching anime in subs at a very young age. Mind you, watching subs in real time developed my reading and comprehension really fast. Plus, I had to not only read and understand them (without pausing), but I also had to practice watching the moving pictures...XD
 
I honestly don't remember, I was really young.

It seems like I've been watching anime forever, but the earliest shows I remember watching were Pokemon, DBZ, Sailor Moon,and Ranma 1/2.

Been hooked ever since.
 
First Pokemon, then when I was older I watched Toonami, then when that ended I went on a two or 3 year break. After that I discovered I could watch Naruto Shippuden on the internet. Shortly after that I met a friend in my class that started introducing me to other anime and I've been hooked watching for about a year now.
 
Always watched stuff like DBZ and sailor moon on TV when i was a kid.
when i was about 12 or so i started watching Naruto because my Japanese pen-pal told me about it.

and like a GOOD ANIME FAN I MOVED ONTO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS and DID NOT JUST STAY ON NARUTO FOREVER
and met the love of my life, Dokuro Mitsukai.

and i think to myself, what a wonderful world.
 
When I was in grade school, I watched all sorts of Miyazaki movies (My Neighbor Totoro was probably my first anime, and still one of my favorites) and Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, DBZ, etc. I wasn't ever really aware of the fact that it was anime I was watching, and I didn't really consider it as such. It was only in the middle of 8th grade, when one of my friends made me watch Bleach with him, that I started actively watching anime. So I've been watching anime for almost four years now.
