How did you become a 30 Rock fan?

I became a fan initially from watching episodes when I was bored on Hulu :lol: It's the only place I can watch all the episodes, and I'm thankful for it :P
 
I wish I could talk to my mom about 30Rock like I do with House, X Files, Bones and Supernatural but unfortunately her English isn't good. I will make her watching the German version once it's on TV but she doesn't like comedy so I think it's a lost cause.
 
Yeah, that's the best way. I didn't see it as an insult either nor do I take all the references to my country as an insult. I find it quite funny actually. :D

Jazz, I always admired Tina Fey for becoming SNL's first female head writer, but I wasn't really familiar with her work.
 
You guys are the only ones I can discuss the show with. :D The friend that got me into it is really busy right now. :sigh:
 
Hmm, I'm American, so there are plenty of those references. But I'm of Indian origins. There are a few jokes about Jonathan. I'll take that as a reference. Or when Liz mispronounces Ananda. She made it Indian sounding when the girl's name was plain old Amanda.

Alec's joke...he made fun of Russians too. And mostly, he was making fun of himself: his age and how desparate he is.
 
It's Letterman. But I'm not bothered by that. He's being funny. Unfortunately, most of my people here are ticklish that much. It's best to ride it out and have a sense of humor sometimes.
 
I also have to admit that I gave this show a shot only cos I read that Lauren Graham likes it:blush: (year and half ago)It took me three eppies to fell in love with it and 5 more eppies till I started to understand what Tracy says.haha. It´s the only show Im watching right now. That says a lot. Love it.
 
That's really cool. I didn't know LG was a fan, but then again, a lot of celebirties are.
 
I read an interview with Lauren Graham back in 2006 where she mentioned that 30 Rock was one of her favourite shows at the moment. That was the first time I heard about it although I knew Tina Fey from SNL. A friend of mine started to watch it and really liked it so when I visited her we decided to watch the first episodes of season 1. It took me some time to get into the show but when it finally clicked I fell in love and it hasn't stopped since. Today it's the only show where I can say there's no episode that sucks.
 
Pretty simple question. How and why did it happen? Were you a fan of Tina and Co. before the show started? Was it recommended to you? Did you read the review or were intrigued by all the awards it was winning?

Me, I didn't pay attention to it much. It was just another show I didn't watch. Actually, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip looked much better to me. But I didn't watch either. I read the reviews and it kept getting more buzz, so I became a little interested.

And then a really good friend of mine said he was really getting into the show. And we have similar tastes in TV shows. So I ended up buying the box set. And the rest is history. :D
