How did railroads contribute to the economic growth of the Pacific

-Trains could carry more goods and transport more people compared to wagons.
-Whenever there's a train stop, new buildings would spring up like saloons, banks, houses, hotels etc.
-It was only the available mode of transportation that could transport goods faster during that time. Months of travel would be cut into days through railroads. Less time means more products and more profit.
-The railroads led the way for new settlements and new developments in the Pacific Northwest.
